Emergency Calls Out of Hours
If you need medical help or advice when the surgery is closed you can,
- Visit any pharmacy for professional advice on your medicines and a range of remedies for everday illnesses.
- Telephone 111
When you ring the emergency number you will be asked for details and then depending on what your problem is, you will be offered either advice and reassurance over the phone, an appointment at the Out of Hours Centre or a home visit. However, you can only be visited at home if you are too ill to travel. You must be prepared to use your own transport or a taxi.
Please note that this service is only for patients whose condition cannot safely wait until the next working day and who need advice or treatment from a doctor or nurse.

When to call 999
In emergency and life-threatening situations call 999.
Dial 999 immediately for emergencies such as:
- chest pain
- difficulty in breathing
- loss of consciousness
- severe loss of blood
- severe burns and scalds
- severe allergic reactions
